Office will setup and run automatically on Windows while on Mac you will have to click next a few times through an installer.Mac users looking to download Outlook 15 will need to navigate to “Office 365 settings,” via the gear in the top right hand corner of the Office 365 portal. You will find Outlook 15 under the Software tab. Color printing is charged at the standard NYU rate of $0.75 per page and does not debit from the $50 per semester print grant. Law students printing to the 'NYU Print Service' or at any non-Law School printer will be charged at the standard NYU rate of $0.10 per page for black and white.

A: According to Chinese law and local regulations, you need connect to NYU Shanghai VPN to access services like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube in China. Visit http://shanghai.nyu.edu/it/vpn to download the NYU VPN client and configure it for use in Shanghai.

2. Q: How can I connect my laptop/cellphone/tablet to university wireless?
A: You can connect your device including Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Mac, iPhone, Android, Ubuntu devices to “nyu” network with our Knowledge Base.

3. Q: How can I print in Shanghai?
A: There are 2 different printing system in shanghai campus. NYU Print Service is a global NYU service designed to allow students to print documents in black and white. For colorful printing, the NYU community (including faculty, staff and students) can use the NYUSH Pudong Campus Printers. This service is specific to NYU Shanghai, and makes printing quick and simple. The service is available in Mac, Windows and Linux.

4. Q: What equipment IT providing and how long can I loan?
A: NYU Shanghai IT provide a various of equipments from cameras to projector, laptop to microphone and audio device to other accessories. Most of the loan services default loaning time is 5 hours. Special equipments (e.g. Camera/Video Camera) default loaning time is 3 days. Long term loaning (up to 2 weeks) only available for staff and faculty. More information visit shanghai.nyu.edu/it/loan.

5. Q: How can I connect my laptop in classroom screen? How to switch the signal from classroom desktop to my laptop?
A: NYU Shanghai have 3 types of classrooms divided by the capacity of classroom, Small classrooms can hold 20 people, Medium classrooms can hold 45 people, Large classrooms can hold 60 people. Use Small Classrooms Technical Guide and Medium/Large Technical Guide to connect laptops and switch signal.

The PCs in JAB 573, 574, 576, and 577 are equipped with all the software you will need for the course. Access to these PCs is allowed during Open Lab sessions.

Alternatively, as of the writing of this page, students may register and download Office for free at http://www.office.com/getoffice365 with their nyu.edu email address. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are included in the Office suite.

Microsoft Project is available via the NYU Virtual Computer Lab.

Alternatively, Microsoft Project can be installed on Windows PCs. Mac users may install virtualization software or dual-boot with Windows to install Microsoft Project.

The Laptop Help Desk provides Microsoft Project for current EG1003 students at no additional cost. They are located in RH337 and their hours of operation are Mon – Fri, 9:00 AM – 4:45 PM.
